The largest and oldest organization of its kind, NMA is a 501(c) (3) national professional and scientific organization representing the interests of more than 30,000 African American physicians and the patients they serve.

  NMA APPROACH TO EMPOWER PEOPLE
  
  
• The purpose of this post is to gain a better understanding of the problems that people with disabilities face when it comes to empowerment. Several development projects have been implemented to remove stigma, discrimination, and stereotypes that prevent people with disabilities from gaining greater access to school, employment, and public services. Many interventions and initiatives to address disability challenges, however, are based on individual or medical models, according to research findings. As a result, people with disabilities continue to face public shame and social isolation, limiting them from participating in a variety of activities in society, including tourism. The goal of this research is to discover social factors that contribute to exclusion and lack of empowerment, as well as to develop community-based programmed to improve engagement.
